".....He was born in Suffolk, England, in 1910 and came to work on Mr. John Horn's Vacy farm in 1925. In 1927 he joined Gresford Troop, 16th Light Horse Regiment and continued military service until 1967.
In 1935 he entered St John's Theological College at Morpeth and retained his light horse troop membership until World War 2.
He was ordained in 1938 and from here on his military and religious commitments merged. He was posted to Lismore and later appointed chaplain of Dubbo military camp.
At the outbreak of war he was appointed senior chaplain on the troop ship Queen Elizabeth, which was sent to Egypt and the Middle East.
His service culminated in 1944 with his appointment as Senior Chaplain of the Third Australian Division for the Bougainville campaign.
At war's end he was appoiunted chaplain at the NSW School of Artillery at North Head until disharge in 1946. From 1947 to 1967 he as chaplain of the 41st Infantry Battalion Byron Scottish Regiment.
In 1958 he was appointed Archdeacon and Administrator of Grafton Diocese. He was a member of the NSW Provincial Synod and the General Synod of Australia for 25 years.
He was president of the Diocesan Synod for the election of two bishops, whom he installed and enthroned."
During the years of World War II Milton was called up for military service. When they realised his two brothers were serving in the Air Force, and he being a primary producer, was asked to supply fresh vegetables for the camps at Greta, mainly carrots and onions.
